Whitworths and Hopkinsons

• Charles Hopkinson was an uncle of Sam and Lucy Whitworth. A bit of his story is here;  that relates his services as a member of the British Volunteer Army. After his death, successors to that unit fought in France in both world wars, and elements still exist in the British Army Reserves today.
